Common Questions

Can I challenge a will in Singapore?

Yes, but only on legal grounds: the will was not properly executed, the deceased lacked capacity or did not know and approve its contents, or there was undue influence, fraud or forgery. Unfairness alone is not enough.

Can an executor be removed?

The court can remove or replace an executor or administrator in appropriate cases, for example where there is serious failure or misconduct. The right step depends on the facts, so get advice before acting.

Do I need a lawyer to apply for a grant of probate or letters of administration?

Not always. A simple, undisputed estate may be manageable personally. Where there is no will, family disagreement, a caveat or a complex estate, early advice can prevent costly mistakes.is not enough.

How much will it cost?

It depends on the dispute. We discuss fees upfront, and they can be fixed or agreed in advance.
